Spreadsheets, without the syntax
Sumio turns plain-language instructions into validated spreadsheet operations — so anyone can do real data work without memorizing formulas.
Why we built it
Spreadsheets run the world's everyday decisions — budgets, rosters, inventories, reports. But their power is locked behind syntax: nested IFs, VLOOKUP, pivot tables. Most people know exactly what they want and still can't get the tool to do it. Sumio removes the syntax, not the power.
How it works
A two-step model that keeps the AI away from your data.
Say what you want
In plain language — “remove duplicate customers, then total revenue by region.” No formulas, no menus.
Sumio proposes a plan
The AI turns your words into a small, validated Operation Plan you can read before anything runs.
Trusted code performs it
Plain Python runs the plan on your data and hands back a real .xlsx with live formulas — the AI never touches the file.
Because the AI only proposes a validated plan and trusted code performs it, a misread can never silently corrupt your data — you see the plan before it runs.
What we believe
Your data stays yours
Files are processed in memory for your request, never used to train a model, and sensitive values are masked before anything reaches the AI.
We only claim what we've built
No aspirational feature lists. If a control isn't implemented, it isn't shown — see the Trust page for exactly what's enforced.
Plain language beats syntax
You already know what you want. The job of the tool is to understand it — in English, Hindi, Urdu, or a mix — not to make you learn VLOOKUP.
Reversible by default
Every step is undoable and every result is downloadable. Nothing is destructive without a clear, confirmed warning first.
